Flow Relay

Flow Relays are used in power transformers insulated in oil which have an expansion tank for the changeover switch under load. Its function is to detect the abnormal oil flow between the changeover switch and its expansion tank. The Relay is installed in the pipeline between the changeover switch tank and the expansion tank. When an oil flow occurs from the changeover switch towards the expansion tank and its speed reaches the setting in the relay, the relay should turn on a shutdown electrical contact, preventing damages to occur in the equipment.
